AYUDH Youth Summit 2019, 13-21 July, M.A. Center Germany

Last chance to apply…New deadline July 1st for applications and registrations - limited spaces remaining

The summit is open to youth between the ages of 15 and 30, regardless of culture, religion, gender or sexual orientation. Young people are welcome to join in any element of the project. The target group is young European citizens who have the desire to eff ect change in society, the motivation to take leadership in their local communities, the commitment to act locally but think globally, and the openness to be accepting and welcoming to others. We pay special attention to involve many youth with fewer opportunities as participants of the diff erent activities. People with economic challenges can apply for a reduced participation fee and receive travel support of 50%, up to 70 Euro. Participants should be interested in the main theme of the summit as well as the values and spiritual background of AYUDH. If you are over 30 years of age you are very welcome to support the summit as a volunteer, so if you are interested, please write to seva@ayudh.eu.

The participation fee for the whole week is only 140 Euro and includes accommodation and vegetarian food and the full program. Accommodation is in dormitories at M.A. Center Germany, Brombachtal, separated by gender (a gender neutral space can also be available if applicable). It is possible to bring a tent and camp (only for youth above the age of 18)

If you are still under 18 years old on July 13th 2019, as per German law, your parents will need to fill in and sign a form before we can accept you for participation at the Youth Summit. Download it here. This is a fillable PDF form and thus the information can be filled in digitally, after which it should be printed, signed and scanned. If you are under the age of 16, BOTH of your parents need to sign the form.

As part of it, your parents will need to read and go over the safety policy and code of conduct with you. Download the Safety Policy and Code of Conduct here. You can upload a scan of the signed form when you apply online.

The main language used at the summit is English. However, the main talks and panel discussions will be translated simultaneously into Spanish, Italian, French and German. Since this equipment is extremely sensitive and valuable everyone who wishes to use a translation set will be asked to make a deposit. You can indicate at the online-registration form if you need this kind of translation set, and you will be asked to make the deposit of €50 upon arrival (cash). Of course, you will be given back the money at the end of the summit when you return the headset.

Workshops, skill labs and other certain activities are not translated, so in case participants do not feel comfortable to communicate fluently in English, they are kindly requested to choose workshops that do not rely primarily on dialogue and discussions.

Community Service: All participants will have a few hours of community service assigned during the week. These are simple tasks such as washing and drying dishes, serving meals, etc. and it’s usually a lot of fun to work together during the summit. Youth who would like to spend more time volunteering at the summit can apply for our ‘helping hands’ scheme during their online application process. As ‘helping hands’ you can participate for a reduced participation fee, while contributing 3 hours of community service per day.

Financial support schemes: Please keep in mind that the financial support is meant exclusively for youth with financial challenges. Since there is a limited budget available to cover these costs, please only apply if you really need this support and could otherwise not participate in the Summit. Otherwise someone else will be happy to receive it. Spots will be given on a first come-first serve basis, so please write as soon as possible to summit@ayudh.eu if you wish to take advantage of these schemes.
